KF ASEAN Culture House's 2024 Special Screening
<FLY Beyond: ASEAN to Korea>
Busan Film Commission cordially invites submissions of feature-length or short films for the special screening, . This project is a collaboration between Busan Film Commission and KF ASEAN Culture House, forming an integral part of the esteemed “2024 ASEAN-ROK Film Community Programme”.
Ⅰ. Project Overview
○ Title: <FLY Beyond: ASEAN to Korea>
○ Content: Presenting screenings of feature-length and short films created by FLY alumni from ASEAN nations. It is essential that these films have garnered prior invitations to film festivals or have been recognized as exceptional works
○ Period: July 30 – August 4, 2024 (6 days) *Tentative
○ Venue: KF ASEAN Culture House (Busan, Korea)
○ Host/Organizer: Korea Foundation (KF) ASEAN Culture House
○ Cooperation: Busan Film Commission
○ Sponsor: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ASEAN-KOREA Cooperation Fund
Ⅱ. Screening program
An experienced programmer will curate submitted films, categorizing them into different themes for screening, review and post-screening Q&A sessions in Busan, Korea. Selection will be made based on their alignment with the program’s objectives. Please note that themes for this year’s screening will be determined after the selection.
Ⅲ. Support for the selected films
○ Feature films (Typically 60 minutes or more)
- Amount may vary depending on the number of screenings
○ Short films (Typically less than 30 minutes)
- Amount may vary depending on the number of screenings
○ Subtitle
- Production costs of Korean subtitles for selected films will be fully covered by BFC
Ⅳ. Important Dates
○ Application Open Date: April 22, 2024
○ Application Close Date: May 19, 2024
○ Selection Announcement: June 5, 2024
Ⅴ. Eligible Criteria
○ Must be a graduate of Film Leaders Incubator (FLY) or FLY POST LAB participants
○ Must have participated as main staff (director/writer/cinematographer/producer) in films
○ Films must have received invitations to international film festivals or been recognized as exceptional works
○ Films must include English subtitles
○ Nationality: Restricted to citizens of the 10 ASEAN member nations (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, The Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam)
Ⅵ. Application Guidelines
○ Application must be submitted by FLY Alumni or FLY POST LAB participants
○ Number of Selections: 10 to 15 feature-length or short films (Ideally, 1-2 films from each ASEAN nation)
※ If there are no suitable works from the country, it may not be selected
○ Application Method: Google Form Application (https://forms.gle/WxaJLc8qDYK3SnyP6)
○ Evaluation Process: Document-based
Ⅶ. Required Application Documents
○ Completion of Google Form Application (Click)
○ Downloadable screener link (SCR) with English subtitles
* The screener link must be inserted into the designated field in the Google Form
Ⅷ. Additional Information
○ Prior to completing the application, please thoroughly review and agree to the provided submission regulations
○ Submission will be considered complete only when the screener link has been provided
○ The screener provided for evaluation must match the final screening version intended for the screening event. Any discrepancies between the screener and the final version may lead to the cancellation of the selection
○ Materials submitted for entry will not be returned under any circumstances
○ Any false statements in the provided documents may lead to disqualification by the selection committee
○ Final Screening Exhibition (MOV/MP4)
○ All ownership rights of the screening content belong to the ASEAN-KOREA Cooperation Fund
