Shane Claudine Flores DAVID loves walking and making films. She majored in Broadcast Communication in the University of the Philippines Diliman where she is known for the courage and deep insights that she brought into her drama scripts, criticism papers, and several documentary, experimental, and narrative video productions. One of these is her experimental work, “Pulses from Outerspace” (2014), which explores about the process of conscientization by examining the inner contradictions within the self, and towards and among the society. Shane is also a member of Tudla Productions, an alternative media production group where she takes part in creating documentary and narrative films about the plight of the Filipino people. She deeply admires Lino Brocka, who insisted that the great Filipino audience is more important than making the great Filipino movie. With this, Shane approaches the art of filmmaking as a dialogical encounter between the filmmaker and the audience. She is working for freelance in scriptwriting, advertising, photography, and as a children’s storyteller. She believes that being a part of FLY2016 would be open new paths for her to bring her filmmaking to greater heights.
