Thongphachanh Philavanh enjoys reading books about cinematography and watching movies. 2011, he participated in International Film Contest hosted by the Department of Film of Laos where his movie No Afraid won the award. This gave him the opportunity to go to Japan as a representative of Laos for Asia Children’s Contest where 11 countries joined. Currently, he is very enthusiastic in developing his ideas to make films and helping his colleagues edit videos.

Rithea Phichith, an independent filmmaker in Cambodia. He started his career in film production as the first assistant director of a French-Cambodia documentary film Golden Slumber. After then, he joined a filmmaking collective called ‘KonKnmerKoun Khmer’ where he made his first film Boyfriend in 2011. He really enjoyed the process of making the film even though the result was not so great due to the lack of knowledge and experience in filmmaking. His second film Chaos which is 145seconds-long was selected by 2011 Yxin Film Festival in Vietnam. In 2012, he finished his 3rd film What’s the difference? He also acted in a film tilted Bopha’s Body which was shown in Cambodia International Film Festival.

LWIN Ko Ko Oo had the B.A. degree in Music in the National University of Arts and Culture in 2006 when he started to desire to extend his study in cinematography and drama. Shortly after then, he entered the same university to major in filmmaking and learned about directing, acting, editing, cinematography and script writing. He also learned how to approach the dramaturgy in a short film workshop and ‘Editing Analysis Course’ led by Yangon Film School. Majoring in economics, Zay Yar Aung has always been interested in watching films and filmmaking since he was young. This inquisitive mind led him to attend courses and workshops on filmmaking, acting, editing, etc. Besides, he went to Japan to participate in 2009 Mekong Children Film Festival. After then, he began his career as an assistant director and a script writer in some feature fiction movies. In 2011, he directed a 7 hour-long documentary series about the floating market and travelers in Ayeyawaddy; a documentary film about cooperative fishing between fishermen and Ayeyawaddy Dolphins; and some music videos. He was also one of the organizers in 2011 Wathan Film Festival which was held for the first time in Myanmar.

John Raymund Macahilas studied communication media at the University of the Philippines-Visayas. He also attended production classes and school activities to strengthen his skills. Besides, he established an organization with his friends to help film-lovers enhance their skills and passion for filmmaking. The organization has promoted the participation in local and domestic film festivals. His film Sa Direksyon Ni Makoy: The Final Cut was chosen as the Best among the short films submitted to the Quisumbing-Escandor Film Festival. In addition, he entered the SinengPambansa National Screen Competition with the script titled AngMgaAswang, which won the award.

Elreen S. Bendisula is a 23 year old AB-mass communication undergraduate of the University of Mindanao, Davao City. Filmmaking is her passion. She wrote a screenplay for a short film which became an entry to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Short film Competition and Mindanao Film Festival in 2007. Her film Sing hot bagged the Best Student Short film award and PDEA’s Best Short Film award. The following year she joined the Guerilla Filmmaking Workshop 6, and made her directorial debut Egay. She won the Best Director Trophy during the 2008 Mindanao Film Festival. Her short film ‘Egay’ was also screened at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) during the 1st Cinema Rehiyon in February 2009. After then she became a production manager in a full-length film such as The Obcured Histories and Silent Longings of Daguluan’s Children, Limbunanand Cartas de la Soledad.

He has just graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, Communication Arts and Design, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang with the first class honors degree in Fine and Applied Arts. During the school life, he mainly focused on photography, filmmaking, moving images and conceptual art. His thesis film Mother was selected in 2012 Vancouver Film Festival and 2012 BFI London Film Festival. After the graduation, he worked as an editor and cinematographer for award-winning independent Thai films such as The Terrorists and Woman I. He was also chosen as an attendee of the 1st Tokyo Talent Campus at 2011 TOKYO FILMeX, the workshop of the 2012 Salaya International Documentary Film Festival and 2012 DocNet Southeast Asia’s Summer School. From the participation in the several programs, he has learned the relationship between filmmaking and society in a global context. He has worked in advertisements and TV documentaries, as well.

Wattanapume Laisuwanchai is a young Thai filmmaker and visual artist. He holds the Bachelor degree in Fine Arts from the communication design program. Although he has made a few short films, his work is widely shown in international film festivals and museums around the world. Wattanapume is interested in the film medium by means of its communicative and expressive power to explore the idea of memory, time, relationship, and self-connection to contemporary society. Trained as a visual artist, he also has an interest to push the boundary of cinematic language to its limit in order to discover a new language of film. The process of making film itself is significant to his work. He delicately observes his research materials in order to experiment and combine various kind of mediums into finding a potential, a new way of making a film structure and form.
